어릴 적부터 소심한 성격이었던 26세 청년 아닐 박치. 다카의 보험회사에서 근무하며 다른 사람들과 함께 한 집에서 생활한다. 학교선생님인 아버지와 하나뿐인 누이도 같은 마을에서 지낸다. 그의 어머니는 그를 출산한 직후 사망했다. 누구보다도 완벽하고 정직하던 아버지는 본인의 사상을 아닐에게 심으려 한다. 아버지는 자연을 매우 사랑하는 사람으로, 어느 예술가도 작품 속에 포착해 넣을 수 없는 자연 징후들이 있고 오직 가슴 깊이에서만 자연을 느낄 수 있다고 믿는다. 아토시라는 여성은 무슬림 청년을 사랑하지만 어는 누구에게도 말할 수 없다.

Twenty six year old Anil Bagchi has been a timid person from his childhood. He works in an insurance company in Dhaka and lives in a house with others. His school teacher father and the only elder sister Atoshi live in their village Rupeshwar. His mother had died at his birth. The idealist and honest father has tried to imbue his ideals in Anil. The old man loves nature and believes that there are certain manifestations of nature that no artist can capture in paint these can only be felt at the depth of ones heart. Atoshi loves a young man who is a Muslim, but cannot tell anyone about it. She keeps it as a secret to herself.

বাংলাদেশের প্রধানতম কথাসাহিত্যিকদের একজন আখতারুজ্জামান ইলিয়াস, তাঁর ‘রেইনকোট’ গল্প অবলম্বনে সম্প্রতি নির্মিত হয়েছে চলচ্চিত্র মেঘমল্লার। বাংলাদেশ সরকারের অর্থায়নে এবং বেঙ্গল ইন্টারটেইনমেন্ট লিমিটেডের সহযোগিতায় ছবিটি নির্মাণ করেছেন জাহিদুর রহিম অঞ্জন

একাত্তর একটা গ্রান্ডপ্লট, সেই গ্রান্ড প্লটেরই একটা ক্ষুদ্র ক্ষুদ্র অংশ নিয়ে এক একটা গল্প বা চলচ্চিত্র নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে। আলোচিত মেঘমল্লার ছবিটিও সেই টোটাল প্লটের একটা ক্ষুদ্রাংশ। মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় অবরুদ্ধ কলেজ শিক্ষক নূরুল হুদা ও তার ছোট পরিবারের গল্প বলা হয়েছে এখানে।

숨을 거둔 남편 옆에 앉아있어도 어떤 슬픔도 감정도 느껴지지 않는다. 남편과 함께한 시간들을 기억하지만 한때 사랑했던 이 남자는 이미 그녀에게 오래 전에 죽은 존재였다. 그녀는 스스로를 페미니스트라 생각하지 않지만 그녀 주위의 환경과 삶에 대한 몸부림은 그녀를 강한 여성으로 만들었다.

This film is about a psychological journey of a woman named Rubi; once she loved her husband devotedly but the feeling is long gone. Sitting beside her husband’s dead body, she doesn’t feel any grief or any other emotion whatsoever. She remembers her life with this man, and discovers that her once beloved husband died to her long before his actual demise. Rubi is not a self-declared feminist but her surroundings and her life-struggle made her a strong woman.

키파옛 우딘은 6개월 전에 가짜 여권으로 해외 이주노동을 간 아들의 사망통지서를 받는다. 그런데 돌아온 시신은 아들이 아닌 다른 사람, 그것도 외국인이었다. 시신을 두고 갈팡질팡 하던 키파옛과 경찰관은 죽은 이의 신원을 파악하기 위해 나선다.

Kifayet Uddin's son went abroad six month earlier but has no communication since last month. OC of the nearest police station has the news of a death of expatriate worker. He goes to the house to inform his guardian but found that person alive in another country. He finds Ramjan Ali responsible for this. He is connected human trafficking with fake passport who sent Kifayet's son in place of Wahab. Ramjan clears everything about this hustle and takes the responsibility of the corpse. বাংলাদেশের মানুষ যারা জীবিকার উদ্দেশ্যে বিদেশে যায় তার একটা বড় অংশ যায় মধ্যপ্রাচ্যে। তেমন একজন আছির উদ্দিন যাকে নিয়েই পুরো গল্প। সেখানে দুর্ঘটনায় তিনি নিহত হন। তার লাশ আনা থেকে শুরুকরে সৎকার নিয়েই ছবির গল্প আবর্তিত হয়। কী ভাবছেন এমন গল্পে আবার আকর্ষন কই। আকর্ষন আছে। ছবিতে দেখা যাবে তথা কথিত রমজান দালাল (শহিদুজ্জামান সেলিম) ধাওয়া করছে ঐ থানার এস আই ফরহাদ (মোশাররফ করিম) কে। সেই এস আই এর সাথে আবার ঘটনা ক্রমে দেখা যাবে ঐ দালালের মামলাতেই। এরকম আরো অনেক হাস্যরস ও বিষাদময় দৃশ্য আপনাকে বারবার আটকে রাখবে ছবি দেখার পর্দায়।
